What is VOIP?

Instead of analog signals sent via copper links through Telkom exchanges,
the sound is digitised, sent via internet streams, and then to an exchange.

This means your voice is data - transmitted with your Wifi and home network
and our service provider charges 45c /minute to most recipients.
Overseas calls are more, but depending on your destination, still cheap.
Think of it as an in-app call but you can connect with others not using the app.

What do I pay for?

Airtime. Thats it. And it doesn't expire. Ever.
No monthly expense or service fee.
When buying airtime, send Proof of Payment to payments@comms.alocyte.co.za

What do I need to use VOIP?

The protocol internet uses is SIP to send voice data.
Your options are to use a SIP enabled desktop phone, dectphone (wireless),
phone app, or even install an app on your PC/laptop/tablet.
There are plenty of manufacturers of devices - I prefer Snom.
I use a free phone app called Zoiper, available on Google Play
